Lunch at Kenny Roger’s

20 Nov 2007 In: Food

It was another staff-resigning-let’s-eat session today, and this time it was for a friend in our department, JM. After much deliberation, we went to KL Sentral for lunch. Which, of course, didn’t leave us with many choices since there are only so many eating places there. It was either Kenny Roger’s, Secret Recipe, Starbuck’s or McDonald’s. Funny nobody even considered the food court. Hehehehe…

Anyway, the choice was literally taken away from us because by the time we got there, JM and Nick were already sitting at Kenny Roger’s. And there I was thinking of eating at Starbuck’s Grrrr Grrrr Grrrr

Just kidding. Hehehehe…

Hey, I just realised that all of us actually ordered the same food – the quarter chicken set. They have this new dish on promotion, but somehow none of us was interested.

The chicken and the salad were okay but the mashed potato… it was really nothing to be proud of. Anyway, it was a good lunch. I was completely stoned after that. Felt like lying down right away and went to sleep. Hehehehe… Must be the chicken Hahaha

Here are some photos of you guys.. enjoying your food Hahaha

Dinner at The Apartment

18 Nov 2007 In: Food, Review

The Apartment

A colleague from the old project team is resigning soon, so the team (whatever’s left of it) took her to dinner at this restaurant called The Apartment at The Curve, Damansara. A rather funny name for a restaurant, I think. It doesn’t really fit into my personal definition of an apartment, but the place looks nice, simple, quite spacious.. and very very cold.

The Apartment

The Apartment MenuTaking the orders was a bit of a chore since the Filipino waiters had trouble understanding the deep American accent of my friend Hahaha but we managed to order the food we wanted without any serious injuries. I think they intended to be creative with the menu but it came out looking cheap instead. It doesn’t help that the prints have faded, making it pretty hard to read.

For starters, we ordered the Apartment Soup and this I-can’t-remember-it’s-name mushroom dish. The soup was okay, with chicken and mushroom and some green stuff in it. The mushroom dish was good. I’m not sure what sauce they cooked it in but it deserves a try.

The Apartment Soup

For main course, we ordered Tendorloin with Wild Mushrooms, Chicken in a Bag and Roast Duck. There was nothing special with the tenderloin. Not bad, but I’ve tasted better barbequed beef elsewhere. The disappointing part was we ordered medium well but we got medium rare instead. Actually, mine was quite raw towards the centre.

The Apartment Tenderloin

The Chicken in a Bag was also not bad, if a bit bland for my taste. I’m so used to spices that any dish without them would taste dull. I don’t have the photo of the roast duck, though, and only a photo of half-eaten chicken. I only decided to write about the food when we were almost done with the main course. A good thing I have my Sony Ericsson W810i handy Great

For dessert, we ordered Strawberry Pavlova, Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Pudding, Banana Crepe and Crunchy Walnut Crepe. I was so full I had to push myself to finish my walnut crepe.

So dinner was good, even though (personally) the food was not that memorable. Prices, they’re comparable to Chili’s or Planet Hollywood. So not really that expensive. And the food was filling too.

All thanks to Nani for organising the event. And to Ucop, Sam and Nani for the bills. Are you sure you don’t want me to pay my share? Hehehehehe… Hik

My dream mobile phone

18 Nov 2007 In: Review

Ever since I bought my first Sony Ericsson mobile phone, I’m hooked. My first ever mobile phone was a Nokia. The second was a Motorola. Both were big and bulky. The third was a Siemens. Then I went back to Nokia. A 3620, I think. Then I bought my current Sony Ericsson W810i and K510i.

I don’t know about you, but I no longer look at other brands. Okay, I lied heheheh. I do look at other brands, but I have no intention whatsoever of buying. Which, of course is another lie. Hahahahaha… But whatever it is, I’m totally hooked with Sony Ericsson. They certainly know how to make great mobile phones.

Which is why I’m eyeing the upcoming Sony Ericsson K850i love

Sony Ericsson K850i

Sony Ericsson K850i

It has the common features most mobile phones now have, but with extras: 5.0 megapixels Cybershot camera with 16x digital zoom, image stabiliser, photo fix, photo blogging, RSS feed, web browser access… there are just so many to list. But one of the best has to be the auto-rotate feature. Vertical or horizontal, whatever you view will rotate to suit. Great, no? yeyyy

Yes, I know there’s a Nokia phone that does the same, but it’s obvious that I’m biased. So there! heheheh

The K850i is not available in the market yet, so I don’t have any information on the price. However, I strongly suspect it would be in the RM 2,000+ range.

Photos gone!

16 Nov 2007 In: Stop press!

In case you were wondering what happened to my photos here (if you still can’t see them), it is because the remote storage site (FileAve.com) where I stored them is not available right now. Maybe they’re doing some maintenance work or something. Let’s hope they’ll fix it soon.

I’ll move those photos to my own host this weekend.
