My housemate’s sister is getting married this coming Saturday, 31 May 2008. Since he’s preparing all the “hantaran” for the wedding himself, he asked me to make the “sirih junjung” — an arrangement of betel leaves and flowers traditionally prepared for a Malay wedding. His instructions: here’s the basket, keep it simple and make it beautiful.

Hah! Easy for him to say.

Okay.. honestly speaking, I’ve only done it once and that was under duress during the Discovery Travel Race – VMY Go Green Selangor end of last year. I’ve browsed through some magazines and I basically have a rough idea of the arrangement I want to create.

Just to be on the safe side, though, I thought I should practice first. Here’s what I came up with. Not bad, huh? smile
