Kompleks Sukan Negara MalaysiaKompleks Sukan Negara (KSN) organised their annual KSN Open Netball Tournament on 10 and 11 May 2008 this year. While the participating teams were exclusively women in previous years, this year’s tournament saw participations from men for the first time ever.

16 teams registered under the Men’s Open category but sadly, one team pulled out at the last minute. The remaining 15 teams were then divided into 4 groups, based on the random draws performed a few days earlier.

Preliminary round matches were played indoor and outdoor at the Stadium Juara ground, Bukit Kiara on Saturday. The top 2 teams from each group advanced to the quarter finals. Here are the results for quarter finals and semi finals.

The final match between Legend and Royale B was nothing if not noisy. Full with tensions too, all thanks to the rather incompetent referees, causing havoc among the players and spectators. That was probably the major upset of the whole tournament.

Legend won the match, beating Royale B with a comfortable score of 10-3. Zaidy from team Legend was also awarded the best player for men’s category. Congratulations to Zaidy and team Legend.
