Good things come to those who wait. And now the wait is finally over. I received a call on Thursday evening around 7:30 from Maxis, giving me the best news so far for the whole week. (It has been a very distressing one.)
I’m very happy to tell all of you that I can now terminate my Maxis Broadband account without having to pay any penalty!![]()
The Maxis customer representative didn’t actually tell me what happened but he did mention the word MCMC. So I guess the people from MCMC contacted them about my complaint. Excellent!
The rep told me that their technicians had conducted some testings (really?) and reported that, somehow, the signal strength around my area is really very bad.
Kind of odd because my area is covered by their 3G network — I checked before I subscribed.
Anyway, I can now go to any Maxis Centre to terminate my subscription. The rep has left some instructions so that the counter people will know what to do and that I am not to be penalised for this. So tomorrow morning, or afternoon (depends on what time I wake up), I’m going to Maxis Centre at KLCC and do just that.
And just so that you know, I went to Low Yat Plaza after work yesterday and signed up with Celcom Broadband, the RM98 per month package. Hopefully by today my account will be activated.
So there you go. I have successfully terminated my Maxis Broadband account without being penalised. If you are planning to do the same, you may try the steps I mentioned in Part 1. Good luck and may the force be with you.![]()

Maxis mmg lembab. i pun ader hantar complaint thru email but no one reply. Mmg rasa nak terminate jugak. My friend suggested Celcom broadband.

Kalau nak guna satu Malaysia, Celcom is the best option.

maxis mmg terer la
agaknya dah banyak customer report kat mcmc
dia boleh plak tak anta any email yg ada no aduan
instead, dia call trus
tp cam bangang dia cakap ‘bukan semua jalan plumbum kami cover.u cant simply assume semua jalan plumbum ada coverage.’
ceh, call buatpe kalau xleh setel
cam ngokngek je
btw dah report kat mcmc
cuma yg tak bestnya no akaun plak takde (xtau sbb xpernah dpt surat from maxis)…
harap2 laaaaaaaaaa dpt terminate without any charges..;(

Email komplen tu ada lagi tak? Kalau ada, boleh forward email tu kat MCMC. At least ada bukti you ada buat komplen. You can do a follow up with Maxis and see whether you can get the nombor aduan from them. My recommendation, you call MCMC straight away and tell them what the Maxis customer service rep said to you. I think that can tip the scale to your side.
One question: did you check whether your area is under Maxis 3G coverage before you subscribed?

email komplen tu takde..because kita komplen pon mcm anta reply kat blog u ni la..dorg dah advance kot xmau tinggalkan any evidence..:p..errr,i didnt check..thats seriously my mistake la,cant deny it..yg org jual tu pon satu.customer service lansung takde.bukan nak tanya.kita yg naif ni pon assume la maxis the best since dia charge mahal gila (btol x?)…but still, if jarang guna pon kene charge, terlebih guna 3g pon kene, and if nak terminate pon kene, then wut the heck kan?as the consumer, terasa cam kene cekik je.cant do anything.
btw takpela..ade org kat mcmc tu dah siap minta nombor akaun…(nombor akaun pon kene minta sendiri kat maxis..(^&&^%&) hahaha…harap2 dorg leh tolong lah..kalau nak suruh buat 2nd complaint pon sanggup!janji dpt terminate without any charges!..amin~
