Yup, it’s my birthday today. The big three five. A friend asked me how I felt and my answer was… nothing. Honestly, I’m not really into this birthday thingy. It was the way I was brought up, mostly. I have never celebrated my birthday until I was in my 20s, all thanks to my friends.
So what have I achieved in my 35 years of life? Looking back, I must admit that there aren’t that many of which I can be proud of. I’m still working for others, for one. I don’t have a house of my own, for another. And I am no where near the financial freedom that I’ve been dreaming of these past few years.
Coming back to my birthday, this year’s was not really a happy one for me. I had planned to celebrate it with the person I loved but alas, circumstances did not allow for it. We broke up only after two months. I was dumped, actually. It hurt like hell but I guess it’s one of the things that I have to accept no matter how I feel about it.
Anyway, thank you to my friends who wished me a happy birthday. And special thanks to Aziz for the really… unique.. cup-cakes. Did you know that Sarah actually ate the one at the top right corner? Hahahaha… No, she didn’t realise what was the image on top until Eina (or was it Madi?) told her. Hahahaha… Well, that’s Sarah for you.

And thank you also to those who gave me those presents. You didn’t need to, you know… but thank you all the same. Love you all ![]()

In case you missed the point, the rocking horse was a reference to your Bajau blood. The lips because I personally think those are one of your best features (Buat bibir tu, Yus.. HAHAHAHAHA!). The underwear because you look good in your underwear ;o).. and everything else is pretty self-explanatory.
And hey, not to say I see the glass as half full, but I beg to differ: there’s plenty you shd be proud of at this age. You may not have the big material/financial success that everybody is looking for and is without, but you’re never short of friends. Given the choice, wd you rather be rich without friends, or middle-income but with a group of people who care abt you enough to make you feel rich inside?
And not that this is a consolation in any form for it is simply the truth: I’m VERY proud of you. You’re a great guy, a great pal and an honest worker. For all that you’ve given and done for me, and all that you hv to put up with me, as a best friend you are worth double your weight in gold. And that for me is an even harder achievement to attain yet you’ve done it.
XOXOXOX

You are right, of course. Tapi macam biasalah. People are never satisfied with what they currently have.
